Wike makes a U-turn on Nnamdi Kanu, warn FG (Video)
Governor of Rivers State, Barrister Nyesom Wike has made his position known regarding the rearrest of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), advised President Mohammadu Buhari’s led government on what to do.
During a press interaction with Wike, speaking from Rivers Government House, told FG to treat both cases of insecurity posing threat to the country equally.
The Governor, mentioning Gumi, Kanu, Miyetti Allah, and Northern-based illegally parading armed bandits, said the same way the secessionist leader is apprehended should be extended to others.
He warned Kanu’s case should not be reduced to regional issues where one will be handled with a gloved hand while the other is persecuted.
He maintained that rule of law must be followed as much he does not believe in Kanu’s agitation principle(s).
Recall, Nnamdi Kanu was brought before Abuja High Court on Monday after his case before the court was placed on hold for over three years. Addressing the public, AGF said Kanu was arrested to continue his case on Treasonable Felony and illegal possession of firearms.
Kanu was believed to have been repatriated from Kenya but the government is yet to address how the IPOB leader was arrested.
Nigerians, equally have urged FG to arrest other criminals terrorizing, killing, and kidnapping innocent people. Video
