The Executive Governor of Rivers State, Barrister Nyesom Wike on Friday clashed with the newly deployed Police Commissioner of the State, Joseph Mukan over undue order.
The governor had during state address last week issued an extension of lockdown in the state with 24 hours curfew in Obio/Akpo and Port Harcourt City over undisclosed motive.
The Governor, since the resumption of the order on Thursday, has been working within clock inspecting major crowded areas in both Local governments to ascertain compliance.
Through the course of monitoring, Wike intercepted several defaulters, including set of lorries conveying cows from North and other road users.
SCANNEWS24 learned that CP Joseph had released all arrested offenders, who were awaiting court order to embark punishment, without official approval by Governor Nyesom Wike.
In viral footage covered by AIT showed the governor, who is popularly known as ‘Mr Project’ scolding the Commissioner described his as ‘unacceptable’.
In his words: “How can you behave that way, betraying everybody. We can not accept that way. Is unacceptable.
The governor, however, scheduled to resolve the matter behind closed doors with all security agents, amidst the heightened atmosphere.
He commended the soldiers, taskforce for their resilience to help accomplish the targeted motive.
