Watch as police wrongly parade US-based Nigerian spotted with a handgun
A U.S based Nigerian has been apprehended and paraded by men of the Nigeria Police after a handgun was discovered on him.
The person, identified as Larry Odigie, hailed from Benin, Edo state, was stopped when he went to meet a mattress vendor to ask for his reimbursement.
The young man was picked with another person, Victor Jacob from Benue State, who was sent to purchase the mattress.
Odigie stated he came back from the US for his sister’s wedding ceremony and has been having the shotgun with him for his private safety due to the insecurity issue in Nigeria.
He clarified that Victor Jacob was sent to acquire the item for him. Nevertheless, when Victor came back with the mattress, he was not happy with the standard so he returned it to the shop.
Nevertheless, he mentioned that when he requested reimbursement of fifty-four thousand naira (54, 000), the sellers weren’t did not respond fine.
Odigie’s pressure for repayment triggered a scene and tempted individuals who then searched him and located a gun on him.
Odigie, who said to have lived in America at the age of nine, contended that the gun was not to hurt anybody, rather it was to guard himself, adding he is a medical doctor in the USA.
Nonetheless, the joint security personnel, police and vigilantes, who walked him around the area charged him to be a criminal.
Odigie insisted that he is harmless and requested his gun be examined to see that it has by no means been fired.
