Some Igbo traders have taken this false representation against the cultural definition of the Tiv too far. In a movie they’ve been airing on Africa Magic Epic Channel with the title, MAGDALENE, the Tiv are presented as an ethnic tribe that entertains their guests with their spouses. Terfa, a Tiv young man is seen pushing his beautiful wife Magdalene to sleep with his friend who came visiting. Magdalene’s refusal attracted harsh reprimand from Tavershima, her uncle. The result of that is that both husband and wife we’re infected with an STD. The picture painted here in the movie as in other fora against the Tiv race is false. The Tiv are decent people who value their spouses and they do not tolerate such costly jokes on them. If you doubt it, a trial will leave you with scars you’ll live to regret same.
