Godwin Obaseki, the State Governor is set for PDP screening ahead of the gubernatorial election.
The screening exercise will be conducted on Saturday, June 20, in Abuja.
This was revealed by the PDP’s national organizing secretary, Austin Akobundu.
It would be recalled that the embattled governor of Edo state formally and officially pitched his political tent with the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) on Friday, June 19.
In a similar development, the governor had gone to pay a courtesy visit to the immediate past senate president; senator Bukola Saraki who has been rumored to be a force behind Obaseki’s emergence as governor of Edo state.
The governor took his political fight with his predecessor and the erstwhile APC National Chairman Adams Oshiomole to another stage as he renamed the popular “Oshiomole Boulevard” to Bukola Saraki Crescent”
This singular act has left the entire Edo state talking… While Obaseki’s supporters are in agreement with the act others are totally against it.
They questioned the reason behind the childish act. According to most of the citizens, Obaseki should have renamed the Street with any worthy Edo son or daughter instead of picking somebody from far Kwara State. It is a slap on their face.
On his own, the PDP national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus has congratulated the governor for taking such a bold step in running under the coverage of the big umbrella where his victory is guaranteed.
