STUDENT DEATH: Examination, School activities going on without hitch – RSU Registrar Assures
Management of Rivers State University has reacted to the ugly incident recorded earlier on Thursday in the school.
A press statement signed and made public by the University Registrar Dr. Sydney C. Eayindah, urged parents and the general public to ignore circulated reports on media targeted at present the school as unsafe.
The Registrar assured that the university is safe for first semester examinations and other activities are smoothly running without experiencing any hitch.
He revealed that the police are currently investigating the incident which affected a final year student.
The statement read: “The Rivers State University wishes to inform parents and the general public to ignore reports in the social media attempting to present the University as unsafe.
“We would like to state categorically that the university is safe, the first-semester examination and all other activities in the university are going on without hitch.
“There was an incident this morning in the University, resulting in the death of a student for which arrest has been made and the matter is currently being investigated by the Police.
