Amid surfaced clip showing believed men of the Nigerian military shooting rampantly at people’s homes in Enugu State the force denies.

A few days ago indicting footage made its way online indicating shooting at residents and burning of residential houses Mgbowo, Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Military’s 82 Division on Tuesday formally distances from the circulating clip purporting the killing of innocent Nigerians in Enugu.

Refuting the claim which has triggered public outcry and condemnation, the division noted that the emanated video was concocted in view to whip up sentiment and incite the public against the army.

The force additionally vowed to investigate the footage in order to ascertain the location, persons involved and necessarily sanction soldiers found culpable in crime accordingly.

According to Major Abubakar Abdullahi, the Acting Deputy, Director Public Relations, 82 Division who divulged the information said that their men and jointly with other safety groups had raided a hideout of suspected IPOB/ESN members in the said LGA.

It further cleared that the operation was carried out in the night where two ring leaders of the group were apprehended and currently undergoing interrogation at the security office.

It noted that its troops alongside personnel of other security agencies raided a suspected Indigenous People of Biafra/Eastern Security Network (IPOB/ESN) hideout located in Mgbowo, Awgu Local Government Area on Monday, in a night operation that led to the arrest of two ring leaders of IPOB/ESN who are currently undergoing interrogation with a security agency. Video
