Senate President, Lawal, says Absence of ministers won’t affect 2020 budget
Nigerians expresses shock as the President of the 9th Senate, Ahmed Lawan, has said that the absence of ministers will not affect the 2020 budget.
The Senate President clarified that budgets were usually prepared by civil servants and not ministers per se.
He said this while with State House Correspondents in Abuja after he held a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, was also at the meeting.
Lawan stated that so long as the budget was laid before the National Assembly by September, the legislature would do its own beat by passing it speedily.
