The phones, according to gathered gossips, were seized from students of Ibadan State Polytechnic, indulging in an examination malpractice.
In what shows to be a leadership example or pilot face to other schools, mainly in Nigeria, the Ibadan state Polytechnic Management has destroyed cellphones seized from students during examination.
A Senior Lecturer and the immediate past Deputy Rector of the Institution, Sculptor Bayo Oyeleke while giving his Address during the exercise stated that the school authority has since commence her effort to make the institution semester examinations sacred, but however some students still go into the exam Hall with their mobile phones which is against the rules and regulations of the institution.
In a viral pictures on social media shows cellphones said to worth over N15 million, burnt down to ashes.
The phones, according to gathered report, were seized from students of Ibadan State Polytechnic, indulging in an examination malpractice.
This followed series of reactions from Nigerians, commending the school management for such exemplary outfit to other schools. While others critized the steps, to be a bad example.
Suggestions from many advised the school management to stop such approach, and define a new measure to help them fight malpractice to its minimal level like, to attach levy before retrieval.
