Leader of the Obidient Movement and presidential representative of the Labour Party has reacted to claims by Delta State Governor, Ifeanui Okowa.

The vice presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party had earlier accused Obi of dragging the church into politics.

In his response, Obi held back his apology for gracing church invitations.

We understand the Anambra State’s ex-governor had honoured a series of church special invites including Redeemed Christian Church of God, Donami Church, and Mater Dei Catholic Cathedral.

Mr. Valentine Obienyem, Obi’s Special Adviser on Media,  confirmed and made this public via a statement the programmes attended by his employer were an invite both ones organised by the Churches.

In his words: “Should Obi start shunning Church events because of politics, even when we know that since leaving office in 2014, he has visited over 1,000 schools and hospitals owned by the Churches, offering them all manner of support for the upgrade of their schools and hospitals that serve the citizens of Nigeria?” he noted

Obienyem further cautioned those bringing disruption into politics, adding those involved were deliberately linking genuine actions of patriots to politics, even when it was absolutely unnecessary.
