Some angry-looking Youths, Yesterday besieged the Nigerian Embassy in Indonesia destroyed numerous items at the premises without a security presence.
A video retrieved by SCANNEWS24 showed over a hundred men held violent demonstrations within the embassy, chanting “Nigeria is not helping us in this country. We don’t have an Embassy. We no go ‘gree.”
This is incoming barely a week after a staff apartment of Nigeria’s embassy in Ghana was pulled down by an aggrieved man who claimed his land was illegally used to raise the residential lodge.
Nigerians in Indonesia protested alleged discrimination and violation of human rights by officials of Immigration.
Recently, a 41-year-old Nigerian residing in Indonesia was confirmed dead after falling from a Nine storey building while trying to escape from Indonesian Immigration officers.
The sudden death had provoked Nigerians resident in the country to storm the embassy vandalizing and destroying property belonging to the country.
Geoffrey Onyeama, the minister of Foreign Affairs, on a statement on Friday through his twitter handle, condemned the violent protest, noting that those involved must be apprehended to face the consequences.
In his words, Onyema said: “Absolutely deplorable and disgraceful criminal behaviour by Nigerian hooligans who without justification attacked the Nigerian Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia today.
“Every effort will be made to identify them and see they are severely punished. Totally unacceptable behavior.”
In separate sketchy reports, the office apartment of the Nigerian embassy in Berlin Germany was said to had shutdown showdown failure to renew rent.
