Nigeria Police promote 6,681 senior officers

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has authorized the promotion of 6,618 senior police, 1 Assistant Inspector Common (AIG), 4 Commissioners, and 3 Deputy Commissioners.
Ikechukwu Ani, the Head, Press and Public Relations of the Commission, confirmed this in an announcement on Friday in Abuja.
He said the consent was one of many highpoints of the eighth Plenary meeting of the commission that completed on Wednesday, after three weeks of considerations.
Mr. Ani pointed out that Olushola Oyebade, the officer promoted from AIG to Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), presently at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, was to represent the Southwest Geopolitical Zone.
He mentioned the 4 Commissioners of Police (CPs), together with one specialist, improved to the status of AIG are Asuquo Amba, Aisha Abubakar, Nekereuwem Akpan, and Olafihan Adeoye.
The official asserted that the commission additionally authorized the promotion of three Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP), Abiodun Alabi, Jonathan Towuru, and Akande Kayode to the level of substantive CPs.
Mr. Ani mentioned three Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP), Valentine Olumese, Adenola Oluwole, and Isa Grema have been elevated to the rank of DCP.
He stated that eight Superintendents of Police have been additionally promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendents whereas 607 Deputy Superintendents have been raised up to Superintendents.
Mr. Ani acknowledged that 206 Assistant Superintendents of Police have been endorsed to the level of Deputy Superintendents whereas 5,786 Inspectors have been exalted to the rank of Assistant Superintendents.
He pointed out that the Chairman of PSC, Musiliu Smith, felicitated the promoted officials and advised them to return the gesture by rededicating themselves to the duty of the nation.
