NEPOTISM: Buhari can appoint who he feels will deliver – Femi Adesina
The federal government has defended the appointment of service chiefs which excludes one from the Igbo extraction.
The Presidency stated that the selections of chiefs are usually not subject concerned federal character.
The reaction was coming moment some Igbo stakeholders lamented over the snub.
Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Buhari, disclosed while speaking during an interview with Channels TV.
In accordance with him, Buhari can assign whoever he feels is a match and can deliver the job accurately.
“There are certain appointments that are subject to federal character, for instance, the constitution says that there must be a minister from each state of the country.
He continued, there are specific appointments that aren’t topic to the federal character and one of them is in the security. He noted.
Safety, about competence; it’s concerning the ability to deliver.
“So, the president will appoint whoever he feels is fit and proper and will deliver to the best for the country and for Nigerians,” he said
