“Miyetti Allah are coordinators of banditry in Nigeria” – Ortom warns Buhari
he instructed that “such a vigilante group will not operate in Benue State.”
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Thursday warned the Miyett Allah Kautal Hore not to come to Benue State for its plan to establish a security outfit called ‘Miyetti Allah Vigilante.’
Ortom was responding to the message associated with the Fulani socio-cultural association, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, in which it declared openly the constitution of its security apparatus to operate nationally.
The former APC stalwart, Ortom, in the announcement granted by Terver Akase, his Chief Press Secretary, explained that in as much as he did not have any trouble with Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore establishing a safety outfit in other states, he instructed that “such a vigilante group will not operate in Benue State.”
Ortom emphasized that Miyetti Allah retained no constitutional privilege to create a national security body.
He told that his state was already operating with conventional security forces and had already founded a vigilante group at all scales, including the state, local government, and ward levels.
In his words: “This is evident in the ongoing recruitment of personnel for community policing who will soon be trained as recommended by the Inspector-General of Police.
“The idea of running a nationwide vigilante group is a mere strategy by the Fulani socio-cultural organization to elevate their nefarious and inhuman activities to another level.
The governor strictly called for the immediate “arrest and prosecution of officials of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore” in view of ending the spate of crime in the country.
He further urged President Mohammadu Buhari’s led government to “stop looking elsewhere for bandits who have been killing innocent Nigerians.
Ortom said “Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore are coordinators of banditry in the country, and officials of the group reside in Abuja,”
