Mr. Tosin Ojaomo, the Counsel for Magu, reflected certainty that his client could be released from custody on Monday.

Ojaomo informed newsmen on Sunday that he had joined Magu at the detention facility on the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Garki Area 10, in Abuja, and carried out a client-lawyer discussion with him for about an hour on Saturday.

The Lawyer disclosed on Friday he applied to the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to acquit Magu on bail.

Ojaomo’s statement read, “Magu isn’t on trial. He has been appearing before the panel which is just a fact-finding panel. Our only concern is that he’s in detention. We strongly believe that he will be released on Monday unfailingly.

“Our application for bail is receiving attention. Those celebrating that Magu is gone should be able to face more crisis as long as they continue to partake in corruption.”

Ojaomo informed our PUNCH on Saturday that his client, the suspended EFCC Boss, whom he reportedly met in high spirits, refuted Malami’s reports during their client-lawyer consultation session at the FCID facility on Saturday.

He continued “He told me the allegations are frivolous, vexatious, and are all concocted to blackmail him and subject him to public ridicule and opprobrium, nothing more. I’m more confident now. If a man is innocent, he won’t be shaken. He’s not bothered. He’s waiting for his title to be cleared so he can fight the more. Magu is coming back. Magu has not done anything wrong.”

The lawyer stated that the allegations put forward by the AGF had been replied, adding that Magu had not been permitted to be represented by a lawyer at the panel.
