Some residents in Kano State has celebrated the victory of governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State after the just concluded gubernatorial poll in the state.

In a video obtained by SCANNEWS24, a number of youths were spotted with their motorcycles in jubilation within APC dominated communities.

Obaseki’s emergence under the People Democratic Party, PDP has been attributed to a recent Visa Ban by the United Kingdom initiated against Nigeria’s electoral violators, from gaining entrance to their country.

Edo state government, in space of four years, have witnessed two political parties after former APC Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, flexed muscle with his supposed political son, Obaseki.

Nigerians, including Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, have suggested that PDP’s presence in the state will end godfatherism following the disappointment by Oshiomhole’s APC to have clench power.

Despite the level of rivalry, injustice experienced before and before the election, going by disqualification from contesting APC primaries, instigating state assembly members, the resignation of key actors, Obaseki has been called to extend a hand of fellowship in order to restore peace in the state.

The celebration of Obaseki’s victory has been recorded in major PDP states including APC, which have indicated the interest of the people.

According to a source, the celebration was extended to strongholds where the Edo APC campaign manager, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has his most supporters.

He smashed his closest contestant, Pastor Ize-Iyamu of APC with  307955 votes leaving him behind with (223619) votes.
