Men of the Nigerian military are reportedly said to have barricaded Onitsha Head Bridge following the loss of six armies to gunmen.

The obstruction of vehicular and foot movement was enforced after unknown gunmen raided soldiers at Ihiala LGA, Anambra State, killing at least six.

One of the passengers who experienced the unfortunate situation said vehicles entering Onitsha from Lagos were restricted while only motorcyclists and passengers were permitted to pass the Head Bridge.

In another development, journalists of Vanguard Newspaper have also experienced a similar situation early Saturday.

#Scannews24 had earlier reported an eyewitness account of heavy shooting in Imo state late Friday.

The source noted that some unidentified armed force took soldiers within Wetheral Road unaware, shot dead five.

The shooters drove into the area and start firing sporadically, causing residents to scamper for safety.

This is coming a day to Biafra Remembrance Day. IPOB had ordered supporters to observe a sit-at-home followed by a prayer procession to mark the fallen of Heroes and Heroines who died before and after the civil war.

Governors in the South have given a shoot at sight order to security agencies regarding the continued attacks on safety personnel and facilities. The order was targeted at protecting the security men against the unknown armed men.
