Just In: Kwankwaso confirm in talk with Obi’s Labour Party for a Merge
New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) flag bearer, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso has confirmed having an extensive discussion with his counterpart, Peter Obi’s Labour Party.
The move will enable both minor parties to have a stronger merger ahead of the 2023 presidential race.
This is coming amid speculation of a possible party merger between both minor parties to enable them to resolve the Vice Presidential slot.
Kwankwaso made this open while having interactive time with the BBC Hausa.
In his words: “We are really talking to Peter Obi, or at least saying that the committee is working to look into the matter (and cooperate with him), and friends and family are coming to talk to us about it.”
He pointed out that their alliance was especially crucial as the All Progressives (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had not brought in an Igbo vice-presidential candidate.
