Just as Father’s Day is celebrated around the world today people of Azu Ogbunike in Oyi LGA of Anambra State aroused to the shocking news of the brutal acts of a one Mr. Ifeanyi Apusiobi, who within the early morning of Sunday, 21st June 2020 said to had allegedly ran amok in situation the Anambra police say are “yet to be ascertained”.
The 34-year-old father, scannews24 gathered, struck two of his biological children; Obinna Apusiobi, male 5 years and daughter, Chinecherem Apusiobi 7 years, with a wooden pestle on their heads whereas they had been sleeping.
According to an availed publication disseminated early Sunday by the Anambra State Police Command, through the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed, stated the culprit also inflicted a deep cut on his father with the same object.
“suspect equally used the same object and injured his father, one Dominic Apusiobi aged 72 years old on the head”.
Mohammed revealed attached to the Ogbunike station hunt and apprehended “the suspect at about 1 am this morning“
Police detectives toured the scene and hurried the victims to the hospital for medical attention where the two kids had been certified dead by a medical doctor whereas the elderly father is reacting to treatment.
The remains of the deceased were deposited at Isienyi hospital mortuary for autopsy and Exhibits, according to reports, have been recovered and the case filled in “the State CID Awka for discreet investigation”
A witness who is aware of the ugly situations anonymously stated that the person in question has psychological issues and separated from his spouse three years ago.
He stated the man’s family lived in denial and declined to send the man to a mental home or hospital where he might obtain proper care fearing stigmatisation. ABS reports.
The question everyone seems to be asking is, what might have pushed Ifeanyi Apusiobi to kill his own children in such a horrible manner, and also try to murder his father?
Hopefully, Anambra police command will investigate the secret and be sure that justice is administered, soon.
