Election: We’ll Raise Deities On Igbos Failure To Cooperate – Remi Tinubu (Video)
A resurfaced 2019 clip of Senator Remi Tinubu the wife of the All Progressive Congress’ presidential candidate, Ahmed Tinubu has created fresh attention and condemnation over unprintable words on Igbos residents in Lagos.
The one minute and half clip indicated the moment Timubu’s wife engaged some people in an open conversation and threatened to invoke Lagos Deities against Igbos in the state.
Remi’s reaction noted that Igbo voters would be attacked by the deities if they fail to cooperate and all their landed properties would be taken in their absence for their stubbornness.
In her statement, partly as transcribed: “We will entreat all the deities of Lagos to chase Igbo people out. Igbo who didn’t marry Yoruba, we will inherit them.
She decried how much love Yorubas entrusted to the visitors yet they decided to spoil it, hence other tribes, including Calabar, and Hausa would be accommodated for their obedience.
It continued: “Given how much we love Igbo, you now want to spoil everything. You are not the only tribe in this place, Hausa are here, we accommodate them, ‘Calabar’ are here, we accommodate them. But Igbo are proving difficult. We will inherit you.”
This has since ignited controversy in media space describing Remi’s statement as careless. However, other commenters argued the statement was misinterpreted noting the senator cannot hate Igbos.
