DSS arrests convener of “Arewa Lives Matter” over pending protest on insecurity

Mr. Bilal Adamu Halilu, who said to be the convener of the northern-based group, ‘Arewa Lives Matter’, has been apprehended by the Department of State Services, DSS.
Scannews24 gathered that he was arrested by the DSS operatives while finalizing arrangements for a peaceful protest regarding the unabated killings ongoing in northern Nigeria.
According to reports, the group had disseminated an announcement informing the general public and the Nigerian police of their intent to protest within all state houses of assembly in the 19 northern states and the National Assembly.
They also slated on calling on the federal authorities to cease the endless killings and attacks on Nigerians, particularly in northern Nigeria.
Halilu was said to have despatched a distress alert to African Independent Television within the earlier on Thursday, July 16 when he was reportedly nabbed.
The textual content read: “DSS has detained me since morning. I was invited on Wednesday and going into their office, they have created blockades around the Houses of Assembly, preventing us to exercise our fundamental right.
