Despite suspension terrorists attack another Kaduna train
Armed bandits have ambushed one other passenger train along the beleaguered Abuja-Kaduna track.
The incident occurred close to Gidan Train Station as the train was returning to Abuja from Kaduna. It was not instantly clear what number of passengers were on board.
Taliya Manja, social media user, who was the first to raise alarm in regards to the assault, stated the bandits planted explosives on the rail tracks as a way to intercept oncoming trains.
It was unclear how the incident might happen hours after the federal government introduced suspension of passenger trains along the route.
A police spokesman in Kaduna didn’t instantly return a request seeking feedback. The Nigerian Railway Corporation has been reached for comments.
The incident came hours after armed gangs carried out a successful assault on a train heading to Kaduna from Abuja with over 1,000 passengers. Many individuals were already confirmed killed, injured and kidnapped.
