COVID-19: Tension as FG set to declare fresh nationwide lockdown
√ COVID-19 Task warn citizens to observe existing protocols and take full responsibility
The Nigeria Federal Authorities has stated it is going to be left with no choice than to impose a fresh lockdown within the nation if the number of COVID-19 infections continues to spike.
Sani Aliyu, the Nation’s Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVIF-19, stated this on Friday during a press briefing in Abuja.
He stated that the increasing Coronavirus infections was a giving concern and may need a new lockdown.
In his word, “If these numbers continue to go up and we begin having vital deaths, we will have no option. If we don’t want to lock down, now is the time to make sure that we follow the non-pharmaceutical interventions.”
Boss Mustapha, the PTF Chairman and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, had similarly noted , stated, the Presidential Task Force may be very involved in regards to the growing daily numbers that we are recording.
Mustpha added that “on the sixth of January 2021, we recorded 1,664 infections. This is yet another all-time high” in the country and Nigerians should take full responsibility by “compliance and vigilance.”
