Count R/S out of your #RevolutionNow march, Wike warns
The executive governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has given Stern warning to supporters of #revolutionNow protest to count the state out of their map.
The governor conveyed this on Sunday 4 August 2019, in statement directed to media by his Aide, Simeon Nwakaudu, described the protest, which set to hold today, 5 August 2019 as “illegal agenda”.
His statement: “Rivers state does not subscribe to what the RevolutionNow protest represents and Rivers state is not part of the protest.”
Wike directed security operatives in the state to arrest anybody involved in the RevolutionNow protest and also take all necessary steps to prosecute such persons.
He further advised parents to ensure that their children are not misled by agents of the march to participate in the illegal protest.
“All council chairmen are directed to be at alert. If they suspect any illegal gathering, they should report to the security agencies for immediate action,” Governor Wike said.
