Another tragedy rock Enugu State as a businessman, Chief Ernest Otugo, his wife and his friend, simply identified as Chief Reuben, reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen around Amaokwe, Udi, along the old Enugu-Awka road.
The trio were said to be abducted at about 8:30pm as they travelled to Enugu from Nnewi, in a chocolate colour Toyota Venza on Thursday.
The Nnewi based Businessman, Otugo, according to Daily Sun, is the President -General of Ibite Olo community in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State while his friend hails from Awka Offemilli in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The abductor left behind one of their children who was said were travelling them before the ugly incident.
The wife, who was later freed by the kidnappers, was asked to go and “begin to gather an undisclosed amount of money as ransom.”
According to report, vehicular movement was obstructed at Obioma-Nsude axis of the road as the operation was ongoing, residents, passers-by were grieved with deep anxiety.
