BREAKING: Supreme Court discontinues Ihedioha’s review application
The Emeka Ihedioha’s review application filed at the Supreme Court seating in Owerri, Imo State on Tuesday has been dismissed.
The former governor of Imo State had approached the court to take another look into the judgement that declared Hope Uzodinma winner of the March 9, 2019 judgement.
According to gathered reports by SCANNEWS 24, Justice Tanko Muhammad who led the A 7 men panel of Justices passed that apex court lacks the jurisdiction re-sit on appeal of its judgment regards the case brought to it.
Based on the judgment announced by Justice Olukayode Ariwoola resolved, dismissed the aforesaid application on grand of lack of merit.
“The judgement of the Supreme Court is a finality,” he said.
The judge, however, said the applicant, Ihedioha, would not be awarded any cost.
Justice Nweze, however, delivered a dissenting judgement.
On the contrary, a member of the court, Justice Nweze has expressed dissatisfaction over the verdict, said the supreme court has power to correct its errors.
He disagreed, remained on the opinion that Hope Uzodinma’s declaration as Imo Governor reached in error and the court has duty to set A-side the decision
