The Executive Director and Instagram celebrity, Cubana Group, Pascal Okechukwu, reportedly arrested by the Inspector-General of Police Monitoring Unit, Lagos State.
Okechukwu, who is popularly referred to as Cubana Chief Priest, known for his luxurious lifestyle, came to Lagos at the Force Headquarters Annex, around 10 am, and was retained thereafter.
The Instagram celebrity, it was learned, was invited for alleged misuse of police escorts and weapons as well as unexplained wealth.
According to a close police source, the invitation was a sequel to order from the Office of the Inspector-General of Police who had reflected surprise to the abuse of police officers.
In his word, “We have detained Cubana Chief Priest and he is facing interrogation for misuse of police personnel as the well illegal use of a weapon and his extravagant and unexplained lifestyle.”
We understand that Cubana Chief has been regular on social media, shares pictures of himself in private jets and different cars to influence his followers of over 1.6 million on Instagram.
Cubana had posted a video of himself on January 6, 2020, rolling freshly minted heaps of naira notes to a large crowd, a violation which attracts a sentence of six months or a penalty of N50,000 or both.
The Priest’s arrest is coming a month after another Instagram celebrity and Chairman, Five Star Group, Emeka Okonkwo, also known as E-Money, was locked up for similarly misusing police escort.SOURCE: Scannews24.com
