There was an altercation on Thursday in the Kaduna State House of Assembly as members exchanged dirty blows over the impeachment of Mr. Mukhtar Hazo, the Deputy Speaker
The drama issued Following the impeachment of Mr. Hazan during plenary, the lawmakers appointed Mr. Isaac Acuta, the member representing Kauru Constituency, as the new deputy speaker.
According to the reports, the impeachment note was endorsed by 24 members of the assembly.
Before he was removed from office, there have been beliefs of an apparent conspiracy by seven members of the House led by the previous deputy speaker to impeach the Speak, Yusuf Zailani.
Nevertheless, lawmakers in the backing of removed deputy speaker traded blows with other members in view of attempting to take away the mace of House after the impeachment.
In his reaction, the Speaker informed Channels Tv that the impeached deputy was the cause of his personal problem.
Zailani accused Hazo of conspiring with other legislators to remove him as the speaker, alleging that the previous deputy speaker also perpetrated other violations that had been in opposition to the rule of the House.
Timely, some police officers and other safety operatives arrived the Assembly Complex over the plot to impeach the speaker who was elected into office on February 25.
Some lawmakers who weren’t comfortable along with his model of leadership were said to have perfected intends to impeach him during plenary.
With a view to forestall any breakdown of legislation and order, all passageways leading out and in of the complex were blockaded by the safety operatives.
