The leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has announced its intention to re-launch Biafra Security Service (BSS), to align with southwest internal security outfit, Operation Amotekun.
The group’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful disclosed in a statement availed to The Sun Newspapers in Owerri on Wednesday.
According to reports, IPOB condemned the pending plan by the Federal Government to proscribe the Yoruba security outfit adding that authorities are deliberately working against the vigilante body because it supported the ongoing killings in the Northern states and other parts of the country.
The group’s media spokesman also described the statement by Miyetti Allah to ban Amotekun as ‘wicked and selfish’.
“They want to commence the killing of innocent citizens they have wasted in the guise of Fulani herdsmen, otherwise why would they stop the outfit that has been well applauded by everybody; what is their interest?”
Declaring the intention on southeast security watch, Powerful detail that with the reintroduction of BSS, all criminal activities of the Fulani herdsmen within the region would be a thing of the past.
He, therefore assured that the regional security outfits will protect the entire people of the southeast and other Igbo centralised zones.
In his words: “BSS would adequately protect the Igbo territory just like Amotekun would do in the West; our lives and properties would now be safe; our women would be free from rape while going to their farms,”
