Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), reportedly assembled on Japan in anticipation of the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari following the order given by Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the group to ensure his arrest.
President Buhari is billed to attend the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7), which will take place in the City of Yokohama from August 28th to 30th. He is expected back on August 31.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, states: “President Buhari will deliver Nigeria’s Statement during Plenary Session Three in which he will appraise Nigeria-Japan relations and takeaways from TICAD6.”
In seperate messages, Kanu had earlier ordered IPOB family units in Japan to ensure Buhari is disgraced as he steps into the country on Sunday for the conference, adding that Japanese Law does not encourage impostors to parade in its country.
He later extend his call to all Nigerians, including the Igbos (Biafrans), Yorubas, Hausas and Middle Beltans to come out emass to ensure “Jubril” is arrested and handed over to Japanese Authorities for investigation.
He said this shortly after members of the group attacked former deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremmadu in Nuremberg, Germany, at a New Yam festival event.
Meanwhile, Kanu said to have forwarded a letter to the Emperor of Japan, Naruhito over his claim on impostor Jubril, the dual version of Nigerian President, Mohammadu Buhari.
In a circulated post on his Facebook page, the IPOB leader urged the Imperial Majesty to use his Reverend office to arewst and investigate “criminal and fraudulent Sudanese impostor Jubril Al-Sudani posing as the dead president of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari”.
He then clarified that the ordered ongoing protest to IPOB family unit in Japan is not targeted at ‘General’ Mohammadu Buhari rather “Jubril Al-Sudani the fake President of Nigeria”.
In his words: “Yesterday August 24, 2019, I took the liberty of writing to the court of His Imperial Majesty of the most esteemed and revered Throne of Chrysanthemum Emperor Naruhito of Japan, on the likely desecration of the royal palace in Tokyo with the presence of a criminal and fraudulent Sudanese impostor Jubril Al-Sudani posing as the dead president of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari.
“I most respectfully drew the attention of His Imperial Majesty to the damaging impact the presence of such a criminal would have on the ancient values of the Japanese society that prides itself in upholding the highest standards of honour and probity.
“I equally requested the Emperor use his considerable standing as the symbol of Japan to demand an investigation into the identity of this fake Buhari and how it happened that a Sudanese actor is about to be presented to his court in place of a dead Nigerian President.
“IPOB planned campaign of public arrest of the impostor in Tokyo is directed at Jubril Al-Sudani the fake President of Nigeria, not Major General Muhammadu Buhari who died long ago in January 2017 and buried in Saudi Arabia. The Japanese authorities we know are best placed to unravel and confirm the true identity of Jubril.
“Nigeria is about to receive a rude awakening. Those that underestimate IPOB, do so at their peril.
