BREAKING: IPOB commends S/West for Amotekun, blasts those against formation of BSS
THE Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has commended South-West governors, stakeholders and those involved in the set up of internal security outfit, Amotekun Operation in the region.
The leadership in a press statement blasted those it said condemned the formation of ‘BSS’ in the South East for the internal vigilante.
In the statement signed and made public by the Nnamdi Kanu led IPOB media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful on Saturday said elders, politicians, governors and stakeholders of the South West region showed doggedness and courage to protect their people and region against “Fulani terrorists herdsmen and Nigeria government jihadi soldiers”.
The group said series of unfolding events, the position of some political leaders and approaches has vindicated IPOB, commended Bishop Kukah for condemning standing against the ‘Jihadi’ intent of the President Mohammadu Buhari’s led government.
The statement said the Amotekun is a set up by the Oduduwa People’s Congress (OPC) borrowed from IPOB’s early strategy to use internal vigilante to fight insecurity in the South East region. “formation of a Yoruba vigilante by OPC are all lines of reasoning and event consistently canvassed and championed by IPOB in the past. The fact remains that Nigeria as presently constituted is the greatest threat to life and peace”.
IPOB said those it referred as ‘Efulefu Politicians’ who condemned Nnamdi Kanu for setting up security outfit (BSS) in 2017 did so out of “ignorance, poor sense of vision, lack of reasoning and self-consuming jealousy” urged them to “tender an unreserved public apology”.
It, however, noted that is now obvious the proscription of IPOB by South-East Governors, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other stakeholders is geared towards making the region “fertile ground for Fulani Jihadi expansionism and impetus for Miyetti Allah terrorism and territorial expansion”.
It urged the general public to support Nnamdi Kanu in his quest to restore Biafra and reaffirmed that IPOB remains “only movement psychologically designed and primed to defend the entire East against any aggression from Fulani terrorists”.
