Justice Adamu Kafarati, the former Chief Judge of the FHC, retired from the bench after his mandatory retirement age of 65, elapsed on Thursday midnight.

The inauguration of the Acting Chief Judge was briefly delayed earlier in morning following awaiting clearance from President Mohammadu Buhari.

It was not clear if Buhari eventually nominated Tsoho to take over as the Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court on Friday. Punch reports.

Howerver, the CJN, Tanko Mohammed, after much delay, allowed Justice Tsoho take oath of office, adding that it was a constitutional provision that the next most senior judge of the court could be appointed as the Acting Chief Judge pending the conclusion for the process of the substantive CJ of the court.
