Buhari’s Gov’t files new terrorism charge against Nnamdi Kanu
The Nigerian government has yet expanded the charges brought against the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu bordering on terrorism.
The Federal government, in an amended copy sighted on Monday, filed before the Abuja’s High Court, increased the counts in the initial charge is levied on Kanu.
The embattled leader of the secessionist group, Kanu, who has been behind detention facility of the DSS since his alleged abduction from Kenya and forceful repatriation to Nigeria, faced a seven-count treasonable felony charge.
He will now enter his fresh plea to a fifteen (15) count amended charge tagged FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015, and signed by DPP, M. B. Abubakar, the Director of Public Prosecution.
The charge was adjustment is effected barely 24 hours to the scheduled continuation of hearing before trial Justice Binta Nyako.
One of the IPOB legal team, Barr Opara Maxwell Chibuike who reacted earlier said the FG served the noticed late in view to further delay and frustrate the trial holding tomorrow.
