The United State Senator representing New Jersey, Bob Menendez has condemned the continued abuse of rule of law by the federal government.

Speaking yesterday in press statement covered by Sahara Reporters, Senator Bob Menendez said disrespect of court verdicts by President Mohammadu Buhari’s led administration as shown that Nigeria no longer respect rule of Law.

Omoyele Sowore, the Convener, #RevolutionNow protest, and his co-defendant, Olawale Bakare were before the Judge, Justice Ijoema Ojukwu on Friday morning when armed DSS officers invaded the court, disrupted court proceedings and finally re-arrested.

The trial continuation was adjourned till Feb. 11, 12 and 13 for definite hearing.

Sowore, who massively was surrounded by his family members and friends in a bid to hurt his re-arrest was released barely 12 hours ago after spending 124 days in DSS custody alongside his co-defendant, Bakare.

Bob condemned continued clampdown on the Nigerian activist and Journalist, Sowore said United State, New Jersey, United Nations and the world is watching.

The senator also said the United States government is keenly watching and may reassess the diplomatic relationships with Nigeria if the continued flattering of rule of law and clampdown of journalists, protesters persist, adding that is either Buhari is no longer in touch or not aware of unlawful activities by his government agencies.

Sawore’s wife, Opeyemi called on the President Buhari to release his husband to his children, said she is still shocked over rearrest of Sowore and finding it difficult to reveal to her children on the development.

Opeyemi, who entertained questions from other senators and government officials said their children need their father in this festive and do not know how to manage the situation, breaks down in tears.
