Bandits snatch*d babies from mothers, bu*nt them alive in Katsina

Tragic and tear festival on Monday as Bandits attacked residents in Katsina, massacred many, including babies and old at the weekend.

According to situation details by the Village heads of Tsawan community in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State the bloody bandits launched a brutal attack on the community and the neighbouring Dankar village, slaughtered thirty residents.

Mr Ibrahim Zangina, one of Tsawa village leader disclosed that “The bandits snatched babies from their mothers and threw the infants into a burning fire,”

His said while updating Aminu Bello Masari, the state Governor on the regrettable onslaught, adding that the bandits took over the community with over 180 motorcycles having over 2 to 3 passengers with them, released shot sporadically at anyone.

He additionally explained that the assault occurred throughout the Muslim night prayers, that, “they shot most of the people while performing the ablution (washing) ritual for the prayers.

“They shot all available cattle including the oxen we used to fetch water and they burnt every available foodstuff,” noting that 21 individuals had been killed the same village alone, refuted insinuations making rounds that the incident was a reprisal attack.

“We have never had any incidents of attacks or confrontation with any bandit or group of bandits in the past,” he stated.

On the Dankar village, Muhammad Suhura, the village leader informed Masari that the community members had been fleeing the neighbourhood in their numbers adding that the killers massacred 9 of the residents there.

The Governor, Masari expressed deep shock and begged the fleeing people to return their houses.

In line with the governor, the bandits didn’t abduct any individuals however had been there to kill the individuals and burn their foodstuff to ashes.

He stated that the authorities had already initiated a strategy to make sure that such calamity doesn’t re-occur however described the incidents as, “act of divine providence.”
