Bandits kill many soldiers on a military attack in Katsina
Unknown gun runners identified as bandits reportedly have launched an offensive attack on military base Katsina State.
A report had it that the rampaging bandits, which the numbers are yet to be ascertained, stormed military outpost in Marina, Safana Local Government Area of the State.
Based on the Daily Trust’s report, the ugly ambush was executed within PM on Thursday.
The eyewitness account noted a number of affected individuals and casualties on the camp of the soldiers however some personnel were feared slain.
The operatives were returning from an operation in a nearby forest when the sudden attack issued.
“Unknown to the soldiers, the bandits had laid an ambush in their outpost. The bandits opened fire immediately the soldiers returned to the posts” a resident of the neighborhood who pleaded to remain anonymous informed Newsmen.
Dweller of the community also hinted on grand of anonymity stated that soldiers killed two of the bandits gun exchange.
Efforts to confirm from Police and military personnel on the incident were abortive.
Meanwhile, in a different story, bandits said to have conducted a fresh attack in Zamfara State escaping with sixty persons including mothers and children.
