“Are We Truely Nigerians? “
The National Igbo Students Union, Rivers State Chapter is set for her 2019 Convention tag: Are we truly Nigerians?
In a statement sent to our office through their programme coordinator and committee chairman, Okpara Maurice Ugochukwu, Said this year’s convention will be holding at the Rivers State University Amphitheatre hall on the 29th of September 2019 by 12 noon.
Maurice, who is also the former Igwe of the Union, Said the event will be featuring the ‘Next Face of Igbo’.
Igwe also noted that some members have many things to benefit, including scholarships, Bursary and Skill acquisition.
He stressed that some Igbo illustrious sons and daughters who has distinguished themselves in their various areas of endeavours and has contributed immensely to the youths of this generation will be rewarded with an Award.
Expected to grace the occasion are Executive Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Ezenwo Wike, Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Arc. David Umahi of Ebonyi State, Chief Willie Obiano of Anambra State, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State, Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.
Others are the World wide President general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo, Sir, Emeka Offor, Apostle Eugene Ogu and Apostle Chibuzo Chinyere.
The Royal Fathers’ of the Day are HRH, Eze Adiele Maduagwu (Onu na Ekwuruigbo na Rivers State), HRH Igwe Chinedu Elibe Okonkwo etc.
He therefore appealed to the people to support the project.
In his words: “A project of this magnitude and importance to youth education, development and empowerment will require the the partnership, support and endorsement of reputable organizations with track records of success and corporate social responsibility packages, to provide the required support for the project execution in terms of provision of funds, scholarships and branded gifts.
“This will no doubt give the Convention the required clout, credence and impetus.” Speakers are Chief Engr. Okoye Muna etc…..
