Its now sure that Opobo and Kalabiama indigenes will ride into their homes smoothly by road in December this year.
The hint was dropped by Commissioner for Education, Dr.Tamunosisi Gogo -Jaja today(5th July, 2018) during the quaterly Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) meeting of Opobo/Nkoro LGA.
Dr. Gogo- Jaja said already the sum of N500m was last week released by the state governor, Barrister Nyesom Wike to facilitate the construction of the last bridge that will berth at Opobo maintown.
Meanwhile, the construction firm, Rafaoul Nigeria Ltd has fast paced the road construction now at second bridge.
The clearing of the last phase and sandfilling had been ongoing in the last six months.
Before this last phase of construction by Wike the road had terminated at Nkoro axis, while the reclaimed portion terminating at Kalaibiama had been washed away.
Wike during his campaign had promised to complete the multi billion road link stretching over 20 kilometres from Ogoni to Opobo.
Recall that the road was kick started by Dr. Odili in 2005 as a way of linking the three riverine communities of Andoni, Opobo and Nkoro to the heartland.
