Again, Security overpowered as Muslims kill man over blasphemy in Abuja
Again Nigerian security is said to have been overpowered during a disagreement between a local vigilante and rampaging Muslims in Nigeria’s capital on Saturday.
The Islamic fanatics mobbed slain the community security volunteer, who was identified as Hundaru over alleged blasphemy.
The deceased, according to reports, was accused of talking down on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and later stoned and burnt to death by Northern youths.
This is coming a few weeks after a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Deborah Samuel was also murdered in Sokoto over blasphemy.
The regrettable but unfortunate incident was issued at the Timber market section of Fruit Market in Federal Housing Estate, Lugbe of Abuja.
Observers noted that security operatives were outnumbered as the mobs arrived around 1 PM on Saturday, dragged and stoned the victim in front of his office.
Police had earlier defended that Deborah’s killing was possible because some security personnel present at the scene of the crime were overpowered by flooding mobs.
