Aba shoe factory now rated best across Nigeria
Mr. Osaro Ekonweren, the Technical Partner of the Aba Automated Shoe Factory reportedly been rated as the most modernised shoe manufacturing machine within Nigeria.
Ekonweren discloses during an interview after the induction of the Mr. Mark Atasie-led board of the company by the state Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu at the Government House, Umuahia, on Saturday, stated that they have been impressed by the inventive ingenuity of workers at the shoe manufacturing unit.
In his words: “We were amazed and impressed by what we saw on the ground. Our group has been into shoe production in Nigeria for over a decade now and I must confess that the machines we saw there when we went on inspection cannot be found anywhere in the country.” The Nation reports.
Ekonweren stated that recently, the factory has an installed capacity for the manufacturing of 5000 pairs of footwear daily which translates to about two million pairs of shoes yearly; with amenities for growth and assured that they plan to really increase this capacity within the next one year.
He complimented the vision of Governor Ikpeazu and substantiated that the manufacturing unit will improve the face of shoe manufacturing in Nigeria.
Also talking, Mr. Chinenye Nwaogu, the Executive Director, Operations of the Factory, stated that with the new management structure in place, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has sent an obvious message that the manufacturing facility will likely be run solely on a foundation of professionalism inspired by business expediency.
He stated that the 30 shoe makers who have been taken to China by the governor for practice on the usage of machines in shoe production will form the preliminary technical staff of the factory whereas there shall be enormous emphasis on tutoring for extra operators.
