3 persons feared dead as terrorists attack military base in Borno

Unfolding development reports police personnel, a civilian JTF member and one other person have reportedly shot dead by rampaging terrorists
within Maiduguri, Magumeri road in Nigeria’s Northeast.
A source who spoke with Source DAILY POST revealed that armed terrorists were spotted with three gun trucks stationed between Chabol and Magumeri and then directly fired at the military base located in that area.

“After displacing the military, they attacked the police checkpoint where they burnt down one police vehicle and took one with them. There are three corpses now at the spot. A CJTF, A Police Officer and another civilian.
This unfolds at the time it was reported that CDS Lt. General Lucky Irabor is heading other service chiefs and top military officials to launch an assignment on military clearance of terrorists in Maiduguri.
Earlier, 69 persons were reported killed along Maiduguri, Magumeri road after the insurgents raided exploration workers and staff of the University of Maiduguri in July 2017.
It is believed, based on speculations, that the incident may be part of the recent threat of attack by Abubakar Shekau, the Boko Haram leader, in sighted ten minutes audio released last week.
